Brand & Identity

A logo costs what it costs
because of who brings the idea.

Not because of how many files ship. Concepting is the expensive part. If you already know what you want, you have done that part yourself, and you should not be charged as though you hadn't.

Three ways in

The only question that changes the price is where the creative direction comes from.

You have a mark already

Refresh

from $450

You have a logo, but it only exists as a fuzzy image file, or it was never drawn properly in the first place. We rebuild it so it stays sharp at any size, from a business card to a truck.

  • Redrawn so it never pixelates again
  • The same full file set as Production
  • Your existing look kept, just built properly
You know the direction

Production

from $750

You have chosen the direction. We draw it properly and hand you every version you will ever be asked for, by a printer, a sign shop, an embroiderer, or your own website.

  • Around 180 files. Seven arrangements, five colours, five formats
  • Ready-cropped profile pictures for every platform
  • A one page sheet telling anyone how to use it
You need the idea

Identity

from $1,500

You are starting from nothing, or from something you have outgrown. We design several directions, you pick one, then we build it out exactly as above.

  • Several designs to react to, not one take-it-or-leave-it
  • Revisions until the direction is right
  • Everything in Production once you choose

On a tighter budget? Essentials is $395. The same quality of build, fewer versions: three arrangements in three colours, 29 files.

What you actually get

Every question below is one a client has actually asked. Here are the answers before you have to.

How many files?
About 180 for Production, Refresh and Identity. 29 for Essentials. You get the whole folder, organised, not a single file attached to an email.
How many versions of the logo?
Seven arrangements. Stacked, stacked with your tagline, the name on its own, the name with tagline, the icon on its own, and two wide versions for website headers and email signatures. Different shapes fit different spaces, which is why one file is never enough.
How many colours?
Five. Your brand colour, black, charcoal, white and cream. The white one is for dark backgrounds, the black one is for anything printed in a single colour, like an embroidered shirt or an engraved sign.
Transparent backgrounds?
Yes, on every PNG. Drop it on any colour, any photo, any slide, and there is no white box around it.
What file types, and what is each one for?
SVG for your website and for any designer. PDF for printers, sign shops and embroiderers, who will ask for this and reject anything else. PNG at three sizes, up to 4000px, for slides, social and documents.
Will it fit Facebook and Instagram?
Yes, already cropped. Square profile pictures sized for Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, LinkedIn and YouTube, so you are not trying to crop a wide logo into a circle at eleven at night.
Do I get mockups on shirts and signs?
You see mockups while we are agreeing the design, so you can picture it before you commit. They are presentation, not artwork. Laying out an actual shirt, wrap, sign or card for production is separate work and is quoted.
Who owns it?
You do, outright. No licence, no ongoing fee, and no permission needed to hand the files to any vendor you like.

Priced separately, so you are not paying for it twice

  • Laying out cards, vehicle wraps, signage or apparel for production
  • The written brand guidelines document
  • Trademark filing support
  • Managing the printer or the fabricator

Each is real work. We would rather quote it honestly than fold it in and cut a corner somewhere you would eventually notice.

What you never have to think about

  • Fonts. Nobody needs to install or buy anything, ever
  • Losing quality. It stays sharp from a business card to a billboard
  • Vendor lock-in. Any designer can pick these files up tomorrow
  • Finding the right file. Every folder is named for what it is for

The spec sheet tells anyone the minimum size and the space to leave around it.

The part most people find out too late

You will never inherit a font bill.

Every mark we build uses open-licence type. That means there is no licence to purchase, ever, and you can hand the files to any vendor, printer or future designer without anyone installing or buying anything first.

A logo built on a foundry system font is a liability handed over quietly, and it surfaces at exactly the wrong moment, usually when you go to trademark it. We do not do that.
